Boxer Machine Upgrade PCB
An amazing piece of equipment that can massively increase takings and also provides additional options.
The BoxerMate circuit has several functions built it, first of all, it permit staff to "get the machine being played with" by pressing a remote control which places a credit on the machine, plays an (optional) piece of music - for example from the Rocky Theme if you have the appropriate performing rights permit, then sounds three "seconds out" bells, flashes optional red strobes and then automatically drops the punchbag ready. (Strobes, music and automatic punchbag lowering can all be switched off individually).
Installation is straightforward, replacing the cable from the main circuit board that goes to the coin mech with the one supplied which has an additional connector fitted to connect to the new circuit board. This alone permits remote control credits to be applied to the machine. Two wires (clearly shown in the instructions) need to be spliced with the supplied connectors. This permits automatic ball release. An output for a secondary speaker (supplied) is pre-wired needing only to be attached to the frame of the chassis using bolts, cable ties or other form of secure fitting. Lastly, cable ties (supplied) are used to connect VERY bright red strobe LEDs which pulse powerfully to make sure everyone knows what is happening.
Many boxers can only take 50p, £1 and £2 which limits your income. Accepting 20p coins (and optionally 5p and 10p too) can increase revenue by around 5-10%. The Upgrade PCB permits the use of our MegaMechs below - apart from anything else, it is always a sensible idea to have at least two coin acceptors on a boxer machine. A dead mechanism on a Friday or Saturday night can easily lose you a three figure sum.
In addition to this, the Boxermate PCB even makes connection of note acceptors inexpensive and simple. We can provide note acceptors pre-configured for this board for under £100 (quality second hand parts) They are configured to give 13 credits for £5, 27 credits for £10 and 55 credits for £20. (We can also double the number of credits if you require per note if you prefer to operate at a cheaper rate.
This circuit board and complete harness, speakers and strobes is around 12% of the cost of a new machine - just £299 - so payback times in a busy venue can be easily less than one month. Typically we have seen revenue increase by around 20% with this device fitted onto machines supplied by us on a 50/50 revenue share.
Availability of PCB & Harness (currently only for Kalkomat): 14 days from order.
A fitting service is provided for local installations - 50p per mile (one way) + £75 for the installation (extra £50 for fitting note acceptor and/or second coin mech)
These PCB's are made by us - and are not available anywhere else for any price.

Replacement Coin Mechs - 8 Channel
As many of you now know, the new 10p is soon to be upon us. Like the 1p and 2p coin already, the 10p is to become a ferrous based coin instead of copper. Not only does the material change but so too, do the dimensions slightly (thicker).
For those of you with limited access to programming equipment or using mechanical based mechs, we are able to provide coin mechs which can handle multi-coin properly. The issue with the single coin comparator mechs which hold a sample of the coin to check against, is that when there are two variations of a coin (1p, 2p and soon 10p), then the mech will accept EITHER the old style coin (still heavily in circulation if not the majority) OR it will accept the new coin (will become increasingly significant).
We use a standard six coin mech and have been using 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 in most of our own machines. With the advent of the new 10p coins, we will either switch to a seven / eight coin mech OR will lose the 5p option so we can allocate one channel for the old 10p coins and another channel for the new 10p coins. It is true that you can feed a sample of both into the mech while it is sampling to just use one channel - but this results in a very wide acceptance - such that almost anything metallic and of the right sort of size will class as a coin. Not acceptable for most of our clients.
Of course, we can either supply mechs "raw" ready for you to program as you wish, or we can send mechs pre-set ready to run. In addition to all British coins, we can also set the units to accept Euros if required.
Simply indicate which coins you wish to accept (maximum 6) and how many pulses (1-50) each coin should give. eg: 20p = 2 pulses, 50p = 5 pulses, £1 = 10 pulses, £2 = 20 pulses, 1 Euro = 8 pulses

MechMate
Many venues now want 50p per play but the reality is, the 50p coin is NOT that common in the pocket. As a general rule you are likely to have more money in 20p coins than 50p coins. With many machines unable to count pulses - or perhaps only count four (most arcade boards), it makes accepting 10p coins difficult and if no counting is possible at all, even 20p coins are rejected. Introducing the MechMate, a simple inexpensive board which takes the GREY counter input from a coin mech, adds credit together and at a pre-determined point, outputs a WHITE coin signal wire, (plus input / output counter connections.
too).
For example, assume we have a Boxer unit which only takes 50p coins, £1 coins and £2 coins. That's ok, but you are losing a lot of revenue from the 20p coins and 10p coins which players will often be only to happy to lose from their pocket. The £1 coin and the £2 coin can sometimes be a little harder to pry from their grasp. What we need to do is change the mech and fit a MechMate while we are at it.
We can allocate 1 pulse for a 5p, 2 pulses for a 10p, 4 pulses for a 20p, 10 pulses for a 50p, 20 pulses for a £1 and perhaps 50 pulses (one free game) for a £2 coin. Now the MechMate is told to regard each pulse as a 5p credit and to only send an output when it has "banked" 50p or more. Any leftover is counted towards the next credit. As such, the boxer can now take every UK coin other than 1p and 2p pieces. No more coin mech jams as someone has tried to make it take 20p coins - now it gladly takes them. the MechMate also has the ability to light an LED to indicate a "partial credit" - to encourage more coins to be inserted. Of course the MechMate can handle different output conditions - eg: each pulse is 10p, output a pulse when 70p is banked.
MechMate Board, assembled and tested. MMB1 £ 29.00 - in stock soon
MechMate Technical Spec:-
Power requirements - 12v nominal (10-16v acceptable)
Trigger pulse from mech - ground switched pulse (grey wire from any standard mech)
Ouptut pulse from mechMate - "white wire" negative switched connect as if from any standard mech
Isolated output pulse to counter - negative switched
Ability to divide by 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 - eg: 10p input pulses from mech, counts to 7 and outputs "70p unit pulses" to machine. (Dividing by 1 is permitted but effectively bypasses the unit)
Ability to drive a bright pulsing LED when a partial credit is held
Ability to drive (via on board relay) output when partial credit held
Ability to drive (via on board relay) output when NO partial credit held
This little board can transform the range of options a standard coin mech can give you, couple with one of our six-coin or eight-coin programmable mechs, you really can set things to EXACTLY what you want.
MegaMechs - 8 coin with software MechMate combi-unit
Perfect for where space is an issue and a direct drop-in compatible replacement is needed without needing to do anything more than remove on mech and replace with ours (assuming standard mech panel cutout). These coin mechs can be supplied "as-is" or we can provide them pre-programmed with your choice of upto eight coins - all UK coins from 1p to £2 plus the 1 Euro coin. It does not feature the partial credit LED driver and multiple relay driven outputs of the hardware MechMate, however if you can do without the "bells and whsitles", this gets you going quickly and for a very good price for a complete drop-in upgrade. We can also divide by any number from 1 (bypass) to 99 with the built-in units.
Supplied ready-to-program: MM8R £ 39.70 - substantial quantity discounts apply to trade.
Supplied pre-programmed: MM8P £ 49.70 - complete output table below and email/send/fax with your order.
It is important to know that if you wish to accept 1p coins and/or 2p coins, there are TWO types of each coin in circulation - the same is going to happen with the 10p coin shortly too. The original coins had a high copper content but now to keep costs under control for the Royal Mint, the base metal is changing from copper to iron. As such, to avoid poor quality acceptance, we STRONGLY recommend that 1p and 2p coins have TWO channels each - one for the OLD copper based coins and one for the new iron based coins. The same will apply to the new 10p but as it has not yet been released we cannot presently program the mech for that. If you order a mech in the meantime and leave one channel "blank", if you opt for the pre-programmed version we will re-program the mech for you when the new coin is released providing you pay carriage to and from.
The example shows how you would complete the chart to allow a 50p credit = 1 pulse and taking coins from 5p to £2 and 1 Euros at 75p value and 2 Euro at £1.50 value. Note also that the MechMate divide Value would also need to be set too - in this case to 10 - either as a standalone unit or integrated. You will also see that if a £2 coin is inserted, the unit gives 50 pulses (/10) = 5 so that the end user has a free game. If this was set to 40 instead of 50, then the £2 would just give 4 credit per game.
You will also see that the euro gives 1.5 credits (15 / 10). This means that just like with the smaller denominations, a partial credit can remain on the system. This can be "made up" with another Euro OR adding other smaller coins.
